So I have put a little thought into what I really wanted this blog to be about...and during my run this morning on the treadmill I decided that after my search online yesterday of other athletic women driven blogs, that I did not want to "highlight" negative stuff in the media here.
This is for the good stuff, inspiring stuff, because there is sooo much of it that is going on around us, but you rarely hear of it in the forefront of the media, you actually have to DIG for it!
I workout everyday, and still race and compete in several different sports, and it is amazing how many athletic women I meet, seasoned or new-bees, who are just being courageous and DOING IT. They are embracing and DOING what they know is good for them.
I read a blurb yesterday on another blog about a woman and her relentless excuses of why she can't find the time to exercise, yet she sure could tell you all the episodes of OPRAH she watched. Think about that....she has time set aside, a priority to her, to sit and watch TV...yet that precious hour could be dedicated to buying better groceries for her family, or even exercising herself.
Just recently I met a swimmer at the pool, and she inspired me. She is a Mom of two boys, she is committed to the sports that she loves as she knows it is what makes her happy, and makes her a better Mom. She maintains perspective that without her being happy, she can't spread it to her children. (remember the airplane oxygen mask theory...she takes care of herself so that she can be there to take care of her children fully)
She inspires me because she is not a media mogul, or actress, she is genuine person with dignity, integrity and I appreciate that(not that media peeps don't have that..). She strives for balance and maintains an athleticism amongst it all. I love success stories, from all types...and success is defined in so many ways....not just in the media, so I love to hear them all.
These are my thoughts for today, maybe more later...

Hi hows it going? I had the chance to see you at one of last years conferences, i too have just started a blog and wanted to post a greeting to get started in some form. Has your business taken off?
I love the 'oxygen mask theory'! And you've reminded me that I need to make time to run today. Not only is there no excuse, but everything else will be better if I do!
